I'm sure I'm not the only person who does this but next time you're in a decent hotel collect the toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits, fruit and pens up and put it in your suitcase so they replace it the next day. Then at the end of your stay put it all in a bag with your small change and give it to someone living on the street or just leave it outside the hotel.
I'm pleased to say that one of my photos has won the GPP Photo of the Month award for July. GPP (Gulf Photo Plus) is a photography club of 37,000 members based here in Dubai.
It was taken in a small village on the banks of the Omo river in southern Ethiopia. It's a candid shot of a little girl momentarily distracted (by me and my camera!) from her school lessons beneath an acacia tree in the centre of the village.
Taken around mid-day the sunlight was nicely filtered through the tree above.
