Diving the Red Sea July 2017

A short film I made of my dive safari to the Red Sea in 2017. We spent a week at sea and dived many of the classic sites including Brothers islands, Daedalus reef and Elphinstone reef.

The main aim for the trip was to dive with some of the big sharks (especially hammerheads) and we weren't disappointed.

  • Scalloped hammerhead shark - c. 40
  • Oceanic white-tip shark - c. 8
  • Thresher shark - 1
  • White-tipped reef shark - 1
  • Grey reef shark - 1

Elephants

Elephant herds spend the night foraging, never more than a mile or so apart from each other. We watched two halves of a herd reunite in Kruger just after dawn at a water hole. Here's two young bulls bonding.

Varanasi: The One Sided City

Varanasi is built on the banks of The Ganges, the holiest of rivers. It is entirely built on the west bank, there is nothing on the opposite bank. The city was founded by the god Shiva and is the spiritual heart of India. The city faces the sun as it rises over the Ganges, the new day is born over the holy river. why build the city anywhere else?

The west bank and the city.

The east bank.
