Unless you have the influence of Steve McCurry getting a different take on the Taj Mahal is challenging. We visited it three times whilst in Agra. Once at dawn, once at dusk plus an evening trip to the other side of the Yamuna River.
It was the end of the dry season so the air was still to be cleared by the first rains of winter and a mist hung around the mausoleum thickened by a thousand wood fires.
It's still a massively popular draw for the locals. We didn't realise but one day we visited was a regular free day for Indians so it was a heaving mass of humanity. I'm not sure this couple were enjoying their day out though.
